Anthropologist, historian. Her research interest evolved from the early modern history of alcohol (NCN project: ‘Cultural history of French wine in Poland’) and culinary recipes (NPRH project: ‘Old Polish culinary recipes. Compilation and edition of dispersed source material’) to drinking cultures and discourses concerning sobriety and drunkenness (NCN project: ‘Drinking culture in Poland in the second half of the 18th century. Alcohol, patterns of consumption and images of drinking’).

Literary scholar. Her research interests focus on alcohol in Victorian literature and culture in Britain. Her doctoral thesis on 'The Habitual Drunkard in Victorian Literature and Culture’ (2020) included significant new work on the fictionalisation of female drunkenness and the figure of the female drunkard. Her first monograph, The Drunkard in Victorian Literature and Culture is contracted with Edinburgh University Press and due for publication in 2023.
